Do Enterpreneurs need MBA degree ???

August 17th, 2009

First of all, thanks to all for appreciating my previous posts…

here i am with new thought and an important topic.

Entrepreneur is the person who prefers to walk on the road less travelled or sometimes creating a path itself. but do they really need an MBA degree from a coveted B school?. Most of the aspirants in the MBA selection Interviews give the answer to dreaded Why MBA ? question as  i want to start my own firm blah blah…in short  they  vomit out the answer as I want to be an entrepreneur…This answer perhaps eliminates the risk of being asked about various Marketing, Finance companies…But An MBA degree is there to enhance ur already acquired knowledge from upbringing, build ur fundamentals in different sectors and hence guide you to apply your supposedly powerful brain in the right direction.

What i believe is dat “A fresh person straight out of college or still studying in the college has numerous plans and ideas some crazy, some weird and some sensible but has the will and desire to do something of his own.” He is not willing to work under someone for a mearge pay packet but socital pressures, reponsibilities etc play their part and he ends up being a normal job person in the long run. Count on your fingertips the name of the successful persons who have got the MBA degree before they enter into the so called enterpreneurship.  I bet you can’t even count 20 of them in the world. The whole thinking changes after the MBA degree, people tend to think if i start this small business what the society say, so much money is spend on my education, I have to repay the loan, i am more reponsible now, risk at this stage should be eliminated and many other things come into picture and the bug of enterpreneurship once again is left unattended.

The best time to start something of ur own is as a fresher, start as early  as u can , do not think or ponder too much over the plan, just have the passion and willingness and road will automatically be created. Start small, dream big and connect with right people, be at the right time at the right  place. All ideas are weird till they are implemented. If by any chance you met some successful enterpreneur, the first thing they advice you to just go for it and rest will all fall in place. Most of them also recommend to prohibit B Plan competitions in the colleges as they require you to think too much, collect all the past data and so which is generally not required in the current business until you are setting a big plant or some thing of that kind. today is a e - world, e commerce, e choupal, e business etc. Every day in india approximately 3 websites are being launched. Just type any word which you have in your mind on Google and you will find a website in line with that idea or word.

Enterpreneurship is like a race, take the lead as large as you can by starting early. The time has changed,  now hare only wins the race not the tortoise. If you have dream to do something new and challenging why wait so long and let others to take up your first thought plan. Just do it!!!!!
